We went there for everything we needed. We went there when thirsty, of course, and when hungry, and when dead tired. We went there when happy, to celebrate, and when sad, to sulk. We went there after weddings and funerals, for something to settle our nerves, and always for a shot of courage just before. We went there when we didn't know what we needed, hoping someone might tell us. We went there when looking for love, or sex, or trouble, or for someone who had gone missing, because sooner or later everyone turned up there. Most of all we went there when we needed to be found.

CHERRY CHEESECAKE MARTINI

Today is Thursday so that means the girls at PINTS will be preparing another martini for the 2016 HAVlife Martini Shake Off!

This event, presented by Bush Construction, will take place again at the Davenport Rivercenter on February 18th from 5:30-9:00pm.

For those unfamiliar with the event, looking to buy tickets, or want to get involved, please click on this link to learn more http://havlife.org/events/

Last week, we posted about our Mini Beer Martini  This week is all about the sweets!

The Cherry Cheesecake Martini is a dessert martini that is a labor of love.  The girls build the martin with Dekuyper Cherry Pucker, Bailey's Irish Cream, and pineapple juice.  Poured into a Rose's Grenadine layered martini glass and garnished with a Moonshine Cherry, it is sure to become your new favorite martini.

Each week, up to the HAVlife Maritni Shake Off!, we will be premiering and new $6 martini on Thursdays.  So if you can't make it to the Shake Off!, stop in and try one of ours that we will be pouring at the event.

Cheers!

BRAND NEW LATE NIGHT HOLIDAY HAPPY HOUR

We are excited to introduce a brand new happy hour to Pints.  To ease the stress of the holiday season we are adding an additional happy hour to our week.  Already, we have happy hour Monday-Friday from 3:00 to 6:00.  Now we are adding a late night happy hour every night of the week from 10:00 to 2:00.

From 10:00 to 2:00 we will have $3.00 "YOU CALL IT"*.  That's right, you call it.  $3.00 you call it beers (bottles and draft), $3.00 you call it mixed drinks, $3.00 you call it glasses of wine, and $3.00  you call it shots.

So take some time from your busy holiday schedule and enjoy some late night fun with friends at Pints!

FEATURED DRAFT OF THE WEEK

SURLY BREWING COMPANY OVERRATED! WEST COAST STYLE IPA

Pints has traveled to many places but nowhere near as much as St. Paul, MN.  It was to our surprise that we didn't know that much about Surly Brewing Company.  Maybe it was a blind loyalty to Summit or the closeness to Leinenkugel's in Chippewa Falls, but it seems we never stretched out of our comfortable beer circle.  In stepped St. Paul resident Scott Longval.

"You have got to try ANYTHING Surly.  I am at the Surly Beer Hall every Tuesday and every third Friday of the month," Scott said.  So we did.  EYE OPENER! WOW!

IPA's are currently a big hit at Pints, so we try to bring in many different types.  This West Coast Style IPA does not disappoint.  Hopheads looking a new style of IPA on draft, should stop in soon!

FEATURED BOTTLE OF THE WEEK

EXILE BEATNIK SOUR

Our bottle of the week comes from Exile Brewing Company in Des Moines, Iowa.  We came across this gem about nine months ago when we met Eastern Iowa Exile Representative, Jacob, at a HyVee in Bettendorf.  As Jacob explained to us then, "This sour will be your gateway to sour beers," and he was right!

This sour is very refreshing.  The tartness is not overwhelming and the aftertaste leaves you salivating for your next sip.  From the American Wild Ale family, this bottle has a 5.6% ABV.

Don't take our word for it! 1 out of 1 dentist surveyed approves, too.  Matt Geneser, D.D.S., clinical assistant professor in Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Iowa loves this sour.  "Whoa! At first I was extremely cautious of a sour beer but this beer packed a taste that I did not know existed in a beer bottle form.  Exile knocked it out of the park again!"

Stop in today to try an EXILE BEATNIK SOUR!

FEATURED BOTTLE OF THE WEEK

BALLAST POINT GRAPEFRUIT SCULPIN IPA

Ballast Point is new to our area and it did not take long to make a name for itself with our beer enthusiasts and in the beer news.  Shortly after Ballast entered our market, Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits was purchased by Constellation Brands, the company that makes Corona and Modelo, for $1 billion dollars!

IPA lovers are going to really enjoy this beer.  The hint of the grapefruit comes out a little in the after taste but is aggressive enough to tone down the hops in the Sculpin.  It is definitely not overwhelming.  For those who expected a radler or shandy taste, they will be caught off guard and pleasantly surprised to fall in love with this IPA.

Stop into PINTS today and try one!
